BODY THERAPY

OSTEOPATHY – BODYWORK – HOLISTIC MASSAGE – SPORT THERAPY MASSAGE – ORGAN BALANCING

WHAT TYPES OF BODY HEALING THERAPY DOES MAJA HEALING OFFER?

Maja Healing has several therapists that work hands-on the patient’s body. The therapist will be required depending on the issue being addressed.
Our osteopath works with a treatment for a wide range of medical conditions, and works with babies as well as adults. The treatments of osteopathic medicine and emotional health are cohesive.
Body massage therapists are healing massages targeted to reduce suffering, open up blocks and knots, and allow better blood flow around the body. This can mean that the work is done in the muscle, into the organs, and/or other systems (lymphatic system).
The holistic approach is used to restore your body to a state of balance, where possible without the use of drugs or surgery.

WHAT IS OSTEOPHY?

The holistic approach with osteopathy is hands on with the goal to identifying where the physical body has come out of structural or functional balance.  With gentle and slow movements, the osteopath will assess if the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues are functioning smoothly together. The goal is to relieve tension in the body, increase mobility, improve blood flow and supply to the muscles and nerves.  By doing this, one tends to feel benefits in their mental and emotional states as well.    Ultimately, it is about building the body up to thrive on its own selfhealing capability.

WHAT IS HOLISTIC BODYWORK?

Holistic bodywork is also carried out as a hands on massage therapy.  Working through the body, the therapist will also work on balancing out the meridian, emotional, and other systems.  Sessions can be intensive as the releases take place, and many do get surprised as to how much they realize they were holding on to and carrying emotionally/energetically.  After such a session, feeling lighter is a common feedback because their body and energy system are back in balance.

OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE, BODYWORK AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH

If the body starts to become out of balance and emotional stress levels move from a manageable amount of stress to an unmanageable amount, the body then moves into dis-stress.

A number of physical changes can occur within the body due to dis-stress. For example change of posture, build-up of physical tension, inability to detox properly, low blood circulation, lymphatic blocks, changes in breathing patterns leading all of which can lead to additional problems within the body.

Because the body is so interconnected with the mental and emotional state, relieving these issues tend to alleviate emotional and mental stress.

HOW LONG IS AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE BODY THERAPIST?

If you are meeting with the osteopath, sessions are 45 minutes to 60 minutes.  If you are meeting with the bodyworker, it can be from 1.5 hours to 3 hours.  Your body therapist will be able to inform you directly.

DOES THE TREATMENT HURT?

Yes, it is possible that there may be a level of discomfort during the treatment.  This truly does depend on your condition and the tension/blocks that are present at this time.  You are encouraged to express any sensations of discomforts during the treatment which you and the therapist can work through together. After the treatment, you may have some stiffness or soreness from the therapy which is absolutely normal and a natural way for your body to work through its healing process.

IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IF I MEET AN OSTEOPATH IN BALI, AUSTRALIA, EUROPE OR THE AMERICAS?

All the osteopath and body therapists around the world practice with their own unique approach.  The body therapists at Maja Healing all have at least a decade of experience under their belt.  They all speak English fluently and each have their own innate power that has allowed them to succeed in their field.

SHOULD I INFORM MY DOCTOR THAT I AM VISITING AN OSTEOPATH OR BODY WORKER?

As this is a privately paid appointment, there is not requirement to inform your doctor. However if you have been visiting your doctor regarding the same discomforts you want the address with the osteopath or body therapist, it may be beneficial to share this information during the appointment.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WITH THE OSTEOPATH OR BODY THERAPISTS WILL I NEED?

On average clients will book 3-6 appointments to resolve their initial condition.  We suggest committing to 3 sessions first as working with the body for complete healing will always take more time as the cells repair.  Some clients do continue with a maintenance program visiting every 1-2 months to protect against conditions like postures at work and life stresses.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Please expect to receive the treatment in your undergarments or bikini (a comfortable bra and bottom).  Some body therapists will use an oil to work on your body but some do not.
